Who we are
After the a focus on macroeconomic issues and the Keynesian approach, the third key characteristic of the Berlin Institute for Financial Market Research is that it is organized as a private sector company. This form of private sector organization, which is unusual in Germany for an institute specialized in research and consultancy on economic policy-making, is the fruit of the long experience of the institute's founder members in the traditional academic sector.
BIF sees itself as an interface between research and real world practice. Entrepreneurial mining of this interface must be tailored to meet the wide variety of different needs and expectations of different clients and target groups. An organizational and management concept informed by a blend of clearly defined professional and personal areas of internal and external responsibility, a flat hierarchy and process-oriented control planning enables BIF to deliver forward-looking results from complex projects implemented within strict set deadlines.
